Myrrh Gum Resin
Myrrh resin is harvested from the trees of the genus, Commiphora. This small scrubby tree from the Middle East and Northeast Africa produces this precious gum which has been traded for thousands of years. This particular Myrrh, from Somalia, is harvested from the Commiphora myrrha tree. In combination with Frankincense, Myrrh has been burned for centuries in churches, temples and mosques not only for its powerful aroma, but for its antimicrobial properties as well.
