Adaptogens: Herbs for Resilience & Immune Health

Adaptogens is a term used to describe herbs that are used to increase vitality and our capacity to endure life’s stressors. In this class, we will learn about the foundations of the endocrine system, how herbs have a balancing effect on mental and emotional well-being and how they support physical health especially by strengthening the immune system. We will focus on 6 herbs, Eleuthero (Siberian Ginseng), Reishi mushroom, Ashwagandha root, Schisandra berries, Licorice root and Astragalus root. This lecture and demonstration style class will highlight ways to incorporate adaptogens into your daily life with recipes, methods of preparation and a demonstration of how to make electuaries (a medicine consisting of herbal powders and honey). 

Maximum Number of Participants: 30 

Registration includes a handout and recipes and, if desired an Adaptogen Ingredient Package with instructions for how to prepare herbs during class or at a later date. 

When you place an order online for the class and choose to add the optional Adaptogen Ingredient Package to your purchase, you will be prompted to choose either Local Pickup or Shipment for your package. If you choose Local Pickup, we will send you a confirmation email when your package is assembled and ready for pickup at Rebecca’s brick and mortar store. 

To have your package shipped, you will need to sign up for the class at least 7-10 days before the class date in order to have the Adaptogen Ingredient Package on hand for the live class. The cost of shipping the package will be added onto your order (minimum $7.50).

1 oz Cacao powder

Other Ingredients & Supplies Needed:
Saucepan
Stove-top/burner
Bowl
Measuring cup
3/4 cup Nut Butter (Tahini, Sunflower, Almond or Peanut) 
1/2 cup Honey 
Fresh Ginger (a few slices)

Optional: shredded coconut, toasted sesame seeds,
Goji berries, dried fruit, cacao nibs or cinnamon, fine mesh kitchen strainer


Ship Ingredient Package option - please order by Monday, November 2nd to plan for on-time delivery and to use during the Live Online Class. Ingredient Packages may also be enjoyed post class.
