Copal is a resin, deriving from many different trees, that is in an intermediate stage of hardening. It's texture is somewhere between the gummier resins and the hard fossilized amber. This particular Copal is black in color and is harvested from the Agathis dammara tree, a conifer native to the Philippines. Black Copal has a strong, heady, balsamic, festive scent. It is known for its grounding energy, for helping to connect us to the deeper levels of our inner spirit and connecting us with other spirits.
