Medicinal Mushrooms 101

Traditional cuisine, immortality tonic, and decomposer, mushrooms and fungi have been used for centuries as food, tea, and medicine. Come explore the fascinating world of fungi, from ancient history to modern medical research. This class is designed for beginner enthusiasts and will highlight ways to incorporate these magnificent mushrooms into your life with recipes and methods of preparation. We will focus on Reishi, Shiitake, Turkey Tail, Codonopsis, Lion’s Mane and Chaga.

Maximum Number of Participants: 20

Registration includes detailed write-ups and recipes for each mushroom and if desired, a Mushroom Ingredient Package with instructions for how to prepare samples and recipes during class or at a later date.

When you place an order online for the class and choose to add the optional Mushroom Ingredient Package to your purchase, you will be prompted to choose either Local Pickup or Shipment for your package. If you choose Local Pickup, we will send you a confirmation email when your package is assembled and ready for pickup at Rebecca’s brick and mortar store. To have your package shipped, you will need to sign up for the class at least 7 days before the class date in order to have the Mushroom Ingredient Package on hand for the live class. The cost of shipping the package will be added onto your order (minimum $7.50).

.20 oz Cinnamon chips 
.20 oz Licorice root 

Other Supplies Needed: 
Crock pot or saucepan that can simmer tea for 4 hours
