Chai Tea is a sweet treat to serve for company, or in a jar wrapped in ribbon it becomes a lovely give-way for cherished friends and family.
2 Tablespoons assam black tea (or rooibos for a caffeine free version)
2 Tablespoons dried ginger
2 Tablespoons cinnamon chips
1 Tablespoon crushed cardamom pods
1 chopped vanilla bean
Pinch of ground nutmeg
A few whole clove buds
A few whole peppercorns
Mix the herbs together and pour into a 4 ounce canning jar. Brewing instructions: Brew 1 Tablespoon of tea blend with 8 ounces of near boiling water, steep for 15 minutes then strain. Add milk and a touch of honey for a perfect winter drink.
Citrus Bath Fizzies
These bath treats can easily be made at home. Soothing, moisturizing and luxurious, any recipient would be thrilled to receive one. Be sure to save one for yourself!
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup epsom salts
2 Tablespoons finely chopped cocoa butter
2 Tablespoons finely crushed calendula flowers
40 drops tangerine essential oil
Witch hazel with a spritzer top
Wisk together the baking soda, citric acid, salt, cocoa butter and calendula flowers, then add the essential oil and mix well. Spray witch hazel onto the powder and toss with your hands. Continue spraying and tossing until the mixture starts to stick together. Firmly pack into soap molds, and then tip the molds over to slide out the bath fizzy. Set them on a plate to dry for 24 hours. Depending on the size of your molds this recipe can make 3-5. Drop one into a hot bath and watch it fizz and bubble as the aroma of tangerine and chocolate fill the air.
