Back to School
Here at Rebecca's we love this festive time of year and have been busy making sure our shelves are fully stocked with all your herbal holiday needs. We're making our annual gift baskets and have come up with some great little gift bags as well. We have also found some new jars and containers, perfect for packaging your homemade holiday gifts.

In the spirit of giving we have included recipes with this newsletter that will help you quickly craft lovely handmade goods. As is our holiday tradition, our staff members have also put together a list of their favorite holiday gifts you can find here at the shop.

We love seeing all our regulars come in the door, along with all the new faces, and hearing about the wonderful homemade herbal products everyone is making. Thank you for supporting Rebecca's year after year, we wish you and yours a happy, healthy holiday season!

Handmade Gifts
Chocolate Candy Cane Lip Balm
(Makes 12-15 Tubes)

Shopping List of Ingredients
2 Tablespoons Jojoba Oil
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil*
2 Tablespoons Beeswax Pearls
1 Tablespoon Cocoa Butter
1/2 Teaspoon Vitamin E
1/4 Teaspoon Pink Mica (optional)
35 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil
5 Drops Vanilla Fragrance Oil
12-15 Lip Balm Tubes

*We do not carry Olive Oil at Rebecca's. If you want a stellar Olive Oil check out Oliv You & Me, right around the corner on Broadway.

Directions
In a double boiler, melt the Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Beeswax Pearls, Cocoa Butter, and Vitamin E. Once the ingredients are melted and stirred together, remove from the heat. Add the Pink Mica (optional), Peppermint Essential Oil, and Vanilla Fragrance oil. Stir the lip balm to make sure your color and scent are evenly incorporated. Pour the lip balm directly into the tubes. After about an hour you can cap, label, and enjoy!

Citrus Lavender Bath Salts
(Makes nine 8oz Jars)

Shopping List of Ingredients
10oz Sea Salt, Coarse
15oz Epsom Salt, Coarse
14oz Himalayan Salt, Fine
.25oz Lavender Blossoms
60-80 Drops Tangerine Essential Oil
20-30 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
9 8oz Clear Jars
Gift Labels

Directions
Pour Sea Salt, Epsom Salt, Himalayan Salt, and Lavender Blossoms to a large bowl and stir to combine. Add your Tangerine and Lavender Essential Oils and stir gently with the back of a large spoon until well mixed. Fill each jar with your beautiful bath salt and label.

Melt & Pour Soaps

Cinnamon Orange Soap
(Makes 8-12 Individual Soaps if you use a square mold that you cut)

Shopping List of Ingredients
20 oz Goats Milk Soap Base, cut into 1 inch chunks
1 tsp. Powdered Cinnamon
30 drops Orange Essential Oil
1/4 tsp. Gold Mica
Soap Mold (Choose your favorite from our beautiful selection!)

Directions
Place the soap base in a heat proof container and set it in a double boiler filled with steaming water, over medium-high heat. When the soap base is melted, add the Cinnamon and Mica. Stir well, pressing any lumps against the side of the container until the mixture is evenly combined. Take off the heat, add the Orange Essential oil, stir well and pour into your soap mold. Wait for 12-24 hours then gently un-mold your soap and cut into bars.

Lemon and Lavender Clear Soap
(Makes 3 - 4 Individual Soaps if you use a mold with cavities)

Shopping List of Ingredients
20 oz Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base, cut into 1 inch chunks
30 Drops Lemon Essential Oil
10 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
A few Calendula flowers
A few Lavender flowers
Soap Mold (Choose your favorite from our beautiful selection!)

Directions
Place the soap base in a heat proof container (like a Pyrex dish) and set it in a double boiler filled with steaming water, over medium-high heat. When the soap base is melted, add the Lemon and Lavender essential oil. Pour a little of the soap base into the mold and press in the flowers. Let the soap cool until there is a thick film and gently fill the mold the rest of the way, with the remaining soap. Wait for 12-24 hours then gently un-mold your soap.
