Welcome to the new Parking Pay Stations in downtown Boulder. We discovered a new pay station outside of Rebecca's on Thursday morning, August 23.

Since it looked like it was here to stay, we named it Percy.

What the ...?!?!?!

Deanna bravely attempts to feed Percy, only to find he is not yet conscious.

These new machines are all over downtown Boulder, and most of the old parking meters have been removed.

Meter Rates

The meter rate is $1.25/hour, and you may pay with coins, credit card ($1 minimum) or tokens. You must display your receipt on the passenger side dash of the vehicle. The enforced hours will be from 9am to 7pm at night, Monday through Saturday. Parking will continue to be free in the downtown garages on Saturday and Sunday.

If you have time left on your receipt, you may take your remaining time with you to another location within the city of Boulder parking districts, as long as it does not exceed the maximum time allowed on the block.

The pay stations communicate wirelessly with the Parking Department via satellite, allowing administration by a central computer.
