These new machines are getting phased in from now until mid-September. When the pay stations are activated, the city will remove the old parking meters. So until then, use the old meters. The City will donate the first parking meter removed to the Boulder History Museum, so enjoy our old meters while you still can.
When the pay stations are activated, the hourly meter rate will increase to $1.25/hour, and you may pay with cash, credit card ($1 minimum) or tokens. You must display your receipt on the passenger side dash of the vehicle. The enforced hours will be from 9am to 7pm at night, Monday through Saturday. Parking will continue to be free in the downtown garages on Saturday and Sunday. If you have time left on your receipt, you may take your remaining time with you to another location within the city of Boulder parking districts, as long as it does not exceed the maximum time allowed on the block. The pay stations communicate wirelessly with the Parking Department via satellite, allowing administration by a central computer. For more information, go to: Local HerbsWe received some beautiful yarrow, calendula and red clover from Rose, of Wild Rose Herb Farm. Come in and enjoy some of these fantastic local herbs. Reishi MushroomsWe just received a shipment of reishi mushrooms. Reishi is a traditional Chinese remedy that works as a deep immune tonic. It has been studied for cancer therapies and for people undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. It can also be used as an immune tonic to prepare your body for the change of seasons. It is prepared by making a decoction in a crock pot. Fill the crock pot with water and add a whole or crumbled reishi mushroom. Simmer on low for 24-48 to hours. The volume should reduce by half over time. Use a cup per day until gone. To make the decoction taste better, you can add basil or garlic or broth. Closed: Labor DayWe will be closed on Monday, September 3 for Labor Day.
