$ 9.00
Weight

Leucidal Liquid is derived from radishes fermented with Leuconostoc kimchi, a lactic acid bacteria that has traditionally been used to make kimchi.  The bacteria that supports the fermentation process of kimchi secretes an isolated peptide that has been known to have antimicrobial benefits, this isolated peptide is Leucidal Liquid, otherwise known as Leuconostic/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate.

Leucidal Liquid is heat stable up to a temperature of 140 degrees Fahrenheit.  A standard dilution is 2%-4%.

 It is commonly used in organic lotion making as an antimicrobial, as it is ECOcert approved for use in certified organic products.

Please Note - Our Leucidal Liquid now comes with cap not a dropper top as pictured.

Thought it great to use until

I saw this:
I know this article is older, but here are other good sources to consider: Close-Scrutiny-Cosmetic-Preservatives-Continues (acs.org), Identification of Didecyldimethylammonium Salts and Salicylic Acid as Antimicrobial Compounds in Commercial Fermented Radish Kimchi | Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (acs.org)

The latter article states that Leucidal Liquid’s antimicrobial properties are actually from salicylic acid and the potentially allergenic didecyldimethylammonium salt. Futhermore, it’s not as “natural” as claimed; it was derived from petroleum feedstock.

Thank you so much for this article and the opportunity to learn more. We did confirm with our supplier that the Leucidal Liquid we carry is 100% of natural origin, derived solely from Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment and free from Didecyldimethylammonium Salts.
We are so grateful to our community for the shared dedication to high quality, healthy and earth-friendly ingredients.
